The Canid Behaviour Research Lab at 麻豆社 is involved in a wildlife survey at the South Canoe wind farm project. The first phase of the project will be going from August 1st to November 1st, although training days should be planned for the 26-29th of August. The job is to collect carcasses of birds and bats found under operating windmills. Two canine teams, and one human-only (this particular position) will be working at the same time, from sunrise to noon(-ish), so about 6 hours/day. The job pays slightly over $16/hour + CPP/EI + vacation pay (for an equivalence of about $20/hour). Having a car would be a huge advantage. Money is available for commuting cost from Halifax to Vaughn (.44cents/km), or from the local accommodations to the sites (with extra for driving the dogs and two other staff on the site). The job will resume again, if you are interested, from May 15th - June 15th 2016. The following year, if the applicant is interested, will include the same set of months and roughly the same dates). For this phase (Fall 2015) the start dates are between August 26th and August 31st (the sooner the better within those dates).
