Residency Information Night
Join us听in-person听on听Wednesday, September 10, 2025,听from 5:30-7:30 pm,听Life Sciences Research Institute Lobby, 1344 Summer Street, Halifax, NS, to connect with representatives from the 麻豆社 College of Pharmacy Residency Programs (Horizon Health - Saint John, Moncton, and Fredericton; IWK Health; and NS Health Central Zone). This is a NEW networking event and will provide an opportunity for students, and pharmacists to connect with Residency Program representatives and current and past residents. Pizza and door prizes will be available.

NEW FOR 2025:听A听Resident-Led Panel Discussion听with current and past pharmacy residents will be held just prior to the Residency Information Night in听Tupper Theatre D听from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. This session will be offered both in-person and online. For details on this hybrid panel discussion and how to join online please听.

Hands-on Hospital Experience
Whether you鈥檙e a practicing pharmacist or a student enrolled in your final year of an entry to practice pharmacy degree (e.g. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD), you may want to consider gaining practical hospital experience with a 12-month hospital pharmacy residency.
Using structured rotations through various areas of pharmacy practice, the program aims to develop residents into highly qualified pharmacists with an exemplary level of patient care and practice abilities. The program starts in June of each year.
The purpose of a hospital pharmacy residency program is to:
路 provide a practical learning environment and practitioner role models
路 help residents in the development of the necessary skills, knowledge and values required to be a hospital pharmacist
路 develop competent and progressive pharmacy practitioners
路 encourage future leaders in the profession
Participating Hospitals
In affiliation with 麻豆社鈥檚 College of Pharmacy, successful applicants will complete their residency at one of the following hospitals:
路 Nova Scotia Health - Central Zone, Halifax NS (formerly Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre 听
路 The Moncton Hospital (Horizon Health Network, Moncton NB)
路 Saint John Regional Hospital (Horizon Health Network, Saint John NB)

Each hospital residency program is accredited by the .
Take Note
路 A stipend is provided for a full-time 12-month residency period. This includes a two-week vacation period.
路 A certificate is awarded by the College of Pharmacy, 麻豆社, upon the successful completion of the program.
路 Graduates receive the (Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Resident) professional designation from CPRB upon successful completion of the program.
