This four-week program is an immersion experience that combines language classes, a university elective course in English, and a robust sociocultural program. Improve your confidence and fluency in English, expand your knowledge of your discipline, and get to know the city of Halifax and the beautiful Atlantic coast of Canada.Ìý

Study tours

We offer custom language programs for groups of students interested in coming to Â鶹Éç on a study tour.Ìý

Course content and format are tailored to your group's needs. We offer courses in:

  • General English Language Studies,
  • Academic English,
  • English for Specific Purposes, such as engineering, tourism, or marine science.Ìý

Accommodations and socio-cultural activities can also be included in the program.

Customized training

The Department of English Language Studies offers customized language training courses for companies, university departments, and other units, with a focus on English for business or various employment sectors. Language training can also be combined with optional technical or professional development courses from other program areas within the Faculty of Open Learning & Career Development.
